JCR Capital hires managing director to lead new fundraising team

An industry veteran with stints at several major private equity firms will join JCR Capital as its managing director of capital formation, the firm announced Wednesday.

George Rupp will lead the fundraising efforts at the Denver-based middle-market investment firm, which has formed an internal capital markets team to help the company build on its recent growth. In the last eight years, JCR has grown from $30 million in assets under management to nearly $1 billion, $300 million of which was added in 2017.

Rupp brings more than 15 years experience to the firm, most recently as as a senior member of the institutional client relations and business development group at Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, a Los Angeles-based middle-market alternative investment manager with over $25 billion in assets under management.

Rupp also has stints at investment bank Merrill Lynch & Co. and advisory firm PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York.

"We are very pleased to have George join JCR Capital," said Jay Rollins, president and CEO of JCR Capital. "Forming an internal marketing team to maintain a permanent presence in the institutional capital markets was the next step in JCR’s growth process. George will anchor the team and brings a wealth of capital raising and financial advisory experiences along with deep relationships throughout the institutional and private investing communities."

JCR Capital is the seventh-largest private equity firm in metro Denver, according to DBJ list research.
